Safa joined CTS on a Traineeship in October 17. She had worked extremely hard in her GCSEs and achieved impressive results including a C in Maths and a B in English. Her academic achievements were in no way holding her back from going into an apprenticeship. What was identified when we met was that confidence, inexperience in a work place and the skills to secure sustainable employment were what were stopping her from going straight into an apprenticeship.
Safa and I created a learning plan which would support her with Employability and enhance her work experience. She took on a business admin role at a local Manufacturing company. Safa immediately worked very hard in both her classroom studies and in her work placement. She took to the tasks straight away and wasn’t afraid to challenge herself.
The feedback from the manager on her placement was that Safa’s attitude towards work is very positive and she continuously demonstrates initiative by asking if she can try new tasks when she has completed what she’d been set.
The feedback from Safa’s Employability Tutor was that Safa is a popular member of the group who has 100% attendance and has encouraged other learners to work hard by being a good influence on them.
When Safa’s placement ended in February and the company were so impressed with Safa that they did not want to lose her and offered her a Level 3 apprenticeship as soon as the placement ended.
CTS and Safa’s parents are extremely proud of how Safa developed and successfully progressed and wish her all the very best in her future.
